Hey guys, Paul Seabrook here, wanted to just give out a little, little bit of advice. For those of you looking for lawyers, okay? This is family law, we’re talking divorce, paternity actions, all this stuff. And if the issue is child support, I’m here to give you a warning, okay?
I’d be very reluctant to hire a lawyer just for the issue of child support. Unless we’re talking big dollars, the calculations can be done in court, kind of on your own. This is an issue, you know, that you’re going to be dealing with the Department of Child Support Services, you can probably handle it on your own. Okay, now, if child support happens to be one of many issues in a divorce, like spousal support property division of domestic violence, then yeah, it’s probably worth it to go with a lawyer. But if all you’re dealing with is the issue of child support, and you got a pretty basic case, generally speaking, I’m gonna say, you know, the lawyer might be more expensive than it’s worth. Okay? And that’s just one thing I just know, in my business, when people ask me to help them out on the issue of child support, it ends up costing them more to hire the lawyer, then it saves them in the end on child support.
So, a little piece of advice, okay, you know, we want to be able to provide value to you. We want to be able to make sure that you feel like you’re getting your money’s worth, when you’re dealing with Seabrook Law. So if it’s just child support, let me know but I think I think a lot of people can save a lot of money by just, you know, submitting the documents through DCSS and paying the support timely.
